What We Do
We offer a comprehensive polished concrete flooring service for residential projects within the Brisbane area. We offer mechanically-polished concrete flooring and grind-and-seal concrete flooring.
Mechanically polished flooring is a great choice for indoor residential flooring projects. It is not suitable for outdoor flooring projects, due to the fact that it may make the concrete more slippery when wet.
Concrete that has been mechanically polished (MPC) is a product that includes a combination of craftsmanship and technological processes to produce a polished and buffed surface that is impressive in appearance. The mechanical polishing of concrete hardens it by ten times, making the floor highly durable and leaving a beautiful finish.

Residential Polished concrete flooring is achieved by using polishing machines equipped with diamond disks or segments of increasing grits that progressively hone down the surface. This method is used in order to achieve the desired shine and smoothness to achieve the finish you want. The process begins by using a coarse diamond segment that is bonded within a metallic matrix. This allows us to remove blemishes, stains and light coatings from the flooring.
The condition of the concrete determines how much rough grinding is required. Usually, it's a three step process, but for more degraded concrete - it can be up to six or seven steps. Following this, the fine grind process occurs. Ever-finer grits are used until the floor is polished to the finish required within the contract. We can use grits over 1500 to achieve the highest gloss finish, and anything below this to achieve your desired result.
Polished concrete flooring differs from grind and seal as it has no top coat. It is the concrete that shines, as differing grits are mechanically utilised to achieve the desired finish. This process is more time consuming and detailed than grind and seal. However, it leaves a luxurious finish that can last a lifetime. We work with industry leading brands like Superfloor and Hiperfloor to complete our polished flooring. Both brands offer high-quality, luxurious finishes and are touted as industry-leaders. We also offer some cheaper alternatives to the above, which we can discuss with clients as needed to fit their budget.
What We Offer
Although mechanically polished residential flooring is more expensive to install than the grind & seal method, it is definitely value for money. Incredibly easy to maintain, environmentally friendly and highly functional, our polished flooring will last for years to come. Whilst the initial cost of polished concrete flooring may be higher, over a long-term period, it ends up being more affordable. This is due to the fact that it does not require extensive long-term maintenance like re-sealing every five years that other methods do. All it needs to remain clean is using a dry microfibre mop to sweep up spills. Water can be used sparingly to clean up bigger spills or accidents. The incredibly refined nature of the flooring means that mould, bacteria and dust mites are unable to harbour within it, which means it's hypoallergenic. Asthma, hay fever and other allergy sufferers would benefit from choosing this option due to this, as it may reduce symptoms and lead to better long-term health outlooks.
A key benefit of using residential polished flooring is that it is very environmentally friendly. As the process uses the concrete itself, it reduces the amount of waste produced during the installation process. The high reflexivity of the polished concrete flooring means it may reduce lighting needs within the home. A polished concrete floor is an attractive, durable, and environmentally friendly flooring option. Concrete that has been mechanically polished to a smooth and shiny finish has excellent sustainability as a result of the unique refinement process. The Enref Institute found that polished concrete residential flooring is one of the most environmentally sustainable flooring options available on the market today.

Residential polished concrete is stain-resistant, slip resistant, easy to maintain and the most environmentally sustainable option we offer. Our polishing process leaves the concrete highly refined, which means it is incredibly resistant to water, oil and other potential stain hazards. It is also resistant to mould, bacteria and other allergens, as it does not facilitate their growth due to the refined finish. This means that stains and spills can simply be wiped away with a microfibre cloth. Often, water isn’t even required to clean polished concrete as it is so refined!
The aesthetics of polished concrete are impeccable. The finish is luxurious, durable and based from the concrete itself - no top coat or sealant is added. This means that no re-sealing is required and long-term maintenance is low and affordable. As long as it is protected from furniture that may scratch, your concrete will look as good as new, with no additional maintenance required.
